Many families in low-income communities across Zimbabwe struggle to pay school tuition for their children. Education in Zimbabwe isn’t free, and many families have to choose just one child who gets the chance to attend school. Kuvamba is working to assist kids from low-income families so that everyone has the opportunity to attend school.
How Child Sponsorship with Kuvamba Works
People just like you are sponsoring kids through Kuvamba. For $30 a month (or $360 a year), an at-risk child can attend school. Here’s how it works:
- Kuvamba identifies at-risk kids and reaches out to their families. Children are placed in a school or learning center close to their community (we don’t think kids should have to walk miles to attend school). Many of our sponsored kids attend Rock Hill Tutoring Center; others are in schools in rural or peri-urban communities.
- Donors are then assigned a specific child and commit to giving $30 each month for at least a year. That $30 subsidizes the child’s school tuition each month and may also help with school uniforms, school supplies, and nutritious snacks.
- Kuvamba receives these donations and pays students’ tuition directly to their school or learning center.
